redirection

I've decided to do the rest of my 365 blogging on my regular blog. I'll leave the previous posts here because there isn't an easy way to move them. I hope y'all will update your links/feeds and follow along over there instead. :)

122/365: maple

The Japanese maple at work is turning red.

bonus:

A pair of bunnies stopped to eat grass just beyond our patio this morning. So cute. I had a pet rabbit once.

extra:
There's a self-portrait in the photos I uploaded to flickr today. (Friends-only viewing, so let me know if you want to see but can't.) I still dislike having my picture taken, but it seems worth practicing anyway.

121/365: trailing

This morning a strange, vivid dream woke me up. It wasn't really a bad dream, but it was unsettling. It had to do with friends and unfinished business and decisions that don't seem important til years later when you want to change something. Bothered me all day. Feh.

119/365: cut

118/365: goalie

I brought my 70-300mm lens to the park yesterday and spent a while photographing people. I make an effort to be obvious about it so they don't think I'm some weirdo hiding in the trees taking pictures. I think the lens is so long that people aren't sure if I'm taking a picture of them or something past them. I should try harder to indicate that I'm taking their picture, but at the same time I don't want them to pose. It's an awkward process.

I'm still uncomfortable posting photos like these because I wouldn't want my photo posted somewhere without my knowledge (and consent). I'm sure this woman would like this photo, but it I suppose isn't up to me to decide she'd like it plastered on the net, too.

I've thought about showing people their picture and asking if they'd like a copy emailed to them, which I would be happy to do. I worry they would be hostile about having their picture taken instead. I imagine someone grabbing my camera and breaking it. Maybe most people are approachable and open, I'm not sure.
